At het moment that the first nameplate of ‘Paul de Vroom architecten’ was put on the facade at the Maaskade spontaneously an idea arose which is symbolically called: ‘Nameplate of the Month’. It means that creative people who in some way are connected to the studio are invited to participate in the design of a regularly changing nameplate. The brief only states the dimensions, the house number and the name of the studio.

This first sign was made by Dutch artist Carine Weve, one of our kindred spirits. She was inspired by the color scheme of the Catalan football club Barça of which Paul is a passionate member. The sign was immediately ‘liked’ by passers-by as well as Dutch and Catalan friends. All,  including the Catalans,  appreciated it particulary because of the indisputable link to the Dutch modern tradition. Carine’s design is used much longer then a ‘month’, but soon the new design will be unveiled, this time made by Catalan Japanese artist ISAO.
